Barcelona set to clash with PSG for another upcoming Brazilian star

Both clubs are watching Lucas Paquetá and could fight for his signing in 2019

Catalan outlet Diario Sport claims Barcelona have identified Flamengo's Lucas Paquetá as one of the main targets for the upcoming midfield renewal the club is going through. The 21 year old is recognized as one of the brightest talents in Brazilian football and has stood out consistently since his breakthrough in 2017.

Lucas stands out as a versatile ambidextrous midfielder that can play in any position in the middle of the pitch, recently he was played by Tite alongside Barça's Arthur in Brazil's friendly against the United States, and is set to become one of the key players in the national team efforts to renew itself after the knockout vs Belgium in the 2018 World Cup.

The player currently has a contract with Flamengo until 2020 and a release clause of €50m, but he's currently set for a pay raise and his clause is likely to increase too. Recent reports have linked him with Paris Saint Germain, with Neymar telling his current club to sign him and the French club could go as far as paying his clause in January. We will have to wait and see who will come out as a winner in yet another dispute between these two clubs.
