Rakitic set to refuse offers from abroad and renew with Barcelona.
The Croatian footballer and the club would be negotiating his renewal
According to journalist Francesc Aguilar from Mundo Deportivo, the Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic desires to fulfil his contract with FC Barcelona and much more. For this, the Sporting Secretary, Robert Fernández, and the player’s agent Arturo Canales had a meeting in Zurich after the FIFA Gala where they would be negotiating the renewal of the footballer’s deal.
Robert Fernández would have received complete guarantees of the player’s commitment to stay in Barça and the falsehood of some media reports which claim the Croat is in conversations with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City. Canales himself assured this Sunday night while the Villarreal-Barcelona match was being played that there weren’t any contacts with the British club or any other club for that matter.
Moreover, the player has asked to Luis Enrique in the summer to not listen to any possible offer since he wants to remain at the Catalan club. Allegedly, there were interest from teams such as Juventus, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City.
