Marca links Courtois to Barça as ter Stegen exit rumors increase
The recent comments by ter Stegen and Chelsea's goalkeeper have lead to a flood of rumors about their futures
According to spanish newspaper Marca, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has refused to pen a long term deal with the Blues leaving an open door for a move to FC Barcelona. The Belgian international seems to be determined for a summer move as his future with Chelsea is in doubt.
With Marc Ter Stegen’s recent comments about wanting more playing time with the Blaugrana, this could be the perfect opportunity for Barça to bring another young goalkeeper. However, knowing Courtois and his prestigious status with Chelsea, plus a hefty transfer fee, replacing ter Stegen would only mean playing Champions League games while being benched for the rest of the competitions which would clearly not satisfy former Atleti man.
A summer move for the Chelsea stopper still remains unlikely, rumors probably originating after the Belgian spoke to the press about his future with the Blues.
“I do not say yes, I do not say no. I do not know: I still have three years on my contract. We must see what Chelsea want.”
