André Gomes suffers a muscular contusion
The Portuguese international got injured in the friendly against Gibraltar
André Gomes has made an earlier return from his duties with the Portugal squad because of an injury. The Blaugrana midfielder has gone through the medical tests this Sunday at the club facilities and the doctors have confirmed he suffers a muscular bruise on his right leg, an injury he picked up in the friendly match against Gibraltar which his national team ended up winning 5-0. Gomes started the game on the bench and was sent to the pitch on the 63rd minute but he had to be subbed off just a few minutes later.
During the next week, it will be determined when he can join the regular trainings with Barça’s first squad, so as of now he’s not ruled out for the upcoming La Liga match against Alavés due to be played on Saturday, September 10th.
Gomes has played two matches so far during the season: first, he made his debut at the Camp Nou on the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla and then he took on Athletic at San Mamés entering in the second half.
