Lionel Messi received 41.33 percent of the points to secure his fifth Ballon d'Or on Monday. However, FIFA's controversial voting system is not indicative of how many of the voters think Messi was the best. In fact, no player can get more than 55.55 percent of the points, and one could get up to 33.33 percent of the points without being voted first by any of the voters.
