After the victory against Atletico Madrid which sealed the League title, FC Barcelona's coach and some of the players spoke to the press. Here's what they had to say.:

Luis Enrique

“Ten months ago we started this journey with a lot of changes, after a trophyless season. We have tried to do our best and now there are two finals left to played.”

“A league title is the sum of several months. I like how we play today in a very tough field and the team deserved the victory.”

“We dedicate this title to all the people who worked with the club this season and especially to our fans. Now it’s time to enjoy it.”

“I prefer quiet and intimate celebrations. We will rest for two days and we will start to train on Wednesday, very aware of the upcoming Spanish Cup final, which is a very appealing challenge.”

“We have two finals left, three matches. We have to be the best in order to win these titles.”

“There’s no way to not get criticized when you train an important club such as Barcelona. If the results don’t go your way, you get executed. It’s something I knew beforehand and it goes with my philosophy. That’s the way it works and it’s logical. Until the season ends I will not talk about my future at Barça.”

Javier Mascherano

“We have kept our faith throughout the difficult moments, when everything seemed to crumble. The team grew beyond those circumstances and overcame the challenges.”

“Our strength comes within the squad itself and our union as teammates.”

“We knew it was going to be a demanding season, especially after being trophyless the last season. Today, we put the cherry on top against a great opponent in a tough field.”

“We are not postponing any celebrations. The league title indicates who is the most consistent team and we are going to celebrate it all we can.”

“We have important matches left to be played and we’ll try to achieve the maximum. The treble is not an obsession, it’s a dream.”

Sergio Busquets

“Actually this league has been very difficult but we are champions again, which is where the club deserves to be.”

“We have been very good all season long. La Liga is the tournament of consistency and this season we have performed superbly and we deserve it.”

“Throughout the tournament all teams go through a rough patch. We have known how to remain calm and trust each other.”

Claudio Bravo

“It’s a privilege to win this title with Barcelona. We want it to be the first out of three.”

“It has been a tough league, very competitive and to me it’s such a joy to have won it.”

“We have closed the deal tonight in Madrid but now we want to celebrate this title with the fans at the Camp Nou.”

“It’s very important when people compliment your work. I try to get better each day, one match at a time, in order to win titles such as this.”

Gerard Piqué

“I’m very proud of the whole team. We live for the success and this squad, after last season, had the need to win titles.”

“The team has always known how to be on top and the reward is this: to win La Liga.”

Jordi Alba

“I have always said that hiring Luis Enrique was the right move. He’s a hard worker and he has earned the squad’s trust.”

“We have won the league meritoriously, though it has been really hard.”

“After the lost at Anoeta the team united more than ever because we got very harsh criticism.”

“Messi has been decisive today, he unbalanced the match but the whole team has done a wonderful job. We strived very hard with intensity.”

Ivan Rakitic

“We are on the right path. It’s a very long season and we are really pleased.”

“This title gives us more energy and now it’s time to celebrate what we have accomplished. We trust ourselves but we are taking it one step at a time.”

“We trust in our coach and staff. This is not only the players’ effort but theirs, too.”
