Samuel Umtiti out for two weeks
The French centre back picked up an injury in Tuesday’s training
Barça's centre back Samuel Umtiti was diagnosed with an internal ligament strain on his left knee and he will likely be on the sidelines for at least two weeks. The club hasn’t officially confirmed how much time he will need to recover, stating that “the progression of his injury will determine exactly how long he will be out for”.
According to newspaper Sport, the downtime for the Frenchman probably will be a couple of weeks because with these types of injures it’s better to provide the appropriate recover time to avoid a relapse. Therefore, Umtiti is set to miss the matches against Atlético de Madrid, Sporting, Borussia Monchengladbach and Celta, returning to action after the upcoming international break.
