La Masia's Cadete B and Infantil A are crowned league champions

Cristian Catena’s and Carlos Martínez’ ranks conquer their leagues with landslides over their rivals

FC Barcelona’s academy squads continue to bring home their respective league championships.

After the crowning of the Benjamín A (U11) team a couple of weeks ago, the Cadete B (U16) and Infantil A (U15) squads have clinched their league titles both with exhibition runs over the opponents. Cristian Catena’s Cadete B boys beat Nàstic B 1-7 while Carles Martínez’ squad thrashed RCD Espanyol 1-5 at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque. The Cadete A team is on the verge of being champions as well, after their tie 3-3 against Espanyol at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper and they only have to wait two more games to win the Division Honor league title.

To describe Cadete B’s season other than remarkable would be an understatement. Catena’s group has secured the title with five match days still to be played, demolishing the competition with a balance of 25 wins in 25 matches and a record of 115 scored goals. Nils Mortimer is the category’s pichichi with 28 celebrations. The team has only conceded 16 goals.

On the other hand, Infantil A have clinched their title in the derby against Espanyol, led by an outstanding Pablo Moreno who tallied up his scoring numbers to 66 goals so far in the season with his brace versus the city archrivals, making him the undisputable league pichichi. The U15 academy squad’s win bagged the league with three rounds left in the schedule and a balance of 25 victories, one draw and only one defeat, with 136 scored goals and 14 conceded. This is the same squad which less than a month ago won the prestigious Mediterranean International Cup (MIC) Tournament of football academies by beating the RCD Espanyol side as well.
