Days after FC Barcelona rescinded the contracts of five youth players -- Fode Fofana (Netherlands), Matías Lacava (Venezuela), Ben Lederman (USA), Patrice Sousia (Cameroon) and Jang Gyeolhee (Korea) -- who were banned by FIFA since 2013, the global federation has informed the blaugrana club that 11 other players (eight from Fútbol 11 and three from Fútbol 7) have been temporarily suspended pending the investigation of their cases.

The Football 11 players are: center back Erick Steven Ferigra of Juvenil B, wingback Imad El Kabbou and midfielder Labinot Kabashi of Cadete A, striker Anssumane Fati and winger Konrad de la Fuente of Cadete B, defensive midfielder Ilaix and winger Haitam Abaida of Infantil A and the midfielder Xavi Simons of Infantil B.

Erick, Imad, Labinot, ‘Anssu’, Ilaix and Haitam were already temporarily suspended for a few months at the end of 2014 by an investigation of the Spanish Federation.

The people in charge of the academy and the legal department of the club claim that these players were all signed legally, either their parents moved to Spain for reasons that are not related to football, or they were transferred from other Spanish clubs, or they were signed before the age of 12 which is something that the Spanish Federation allows, or they have more than five years of residency in Spain.
