Carles Aleñá: ‘I hope to continue for many years in Barcelona’

The Catalan footballer is already negotiating his renewal with the club

Carles Aleñá, one of the promising youngsters in Barcelona’s academy, has been the protagonist this Thursday of the show “Hora B” from Barça TV. The Catalan footballer has looked back on his trajectory at the club where he has been the squad captain in 10 out of the 12 seasons he has been part of the Blaugranas ranks.

This current season he has been a regular in the senior squad trainings at the Ciutat Esportiva: “It’s always a privilege to train with these players and we try to make the most out of it. We’re there with a lot of desire and excitement”, Aleñá said. His contract ends on June 30th 2018 but both parties are already negotiating his renewal with the Culés since he has great chances of making it to the first squad, something the footballer wishes: “I hope to continue in Barcelona for many years”.

Aleñá has already debuted as a goalscorer with the first team in the Spanish Cup this season and despite Luis Enrique’s tough comments about his performance during that match, he’s one of the Asturian coach’s favorite youngsters. The academy midfielder is clear on the coach’s good intentions: “He says those things to me so I can learn. I already knew what kind of match I played but he pointed it out so I could improve, in order to keep my feet on the ground. We get along really well”.
