Barcelona appoints Ronaldinho as club ambassador

The Brazilian legend will be part of Barça's New York adventure

Eight years after they have parted ways, FC Barcelona has recruited Ronaldinho as the first team ambassador at the inauguration of a new corporate facility in New York, on September 6.

The Catalan giants will open a new office located in Park Avenue in order to increase their international expansion. To do so, the Blaugrana will join forces with one of the clubs most emblematic players since it was founded in 1899.

In Ronaldinho’s five seasons at Camp Nou (2003-2008) Barcelona went from stringing together five trophy-less campaigns to regaining their status as a European powerhouse.

Danish defender Line Roddik Hansen will represent the women’s squad, while several other members of the Board of Directors will make the trip to the United States. President Josep Maria Bartomeu will lead a crew of team executives including three vice presidents: Jordi Cardoner, Jordi Mestre and Manel Arroyo.
