The Barcelona Cadete A (U16) team has clinched its league title after a resounding 6-0 win over Damm at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. With this victory, they have become the fourth male cantera team to be champions this season, following the crowning of the Alevín A, Cadete B and Benjamín A teams.

The elaborated football by means of possession and intelligent passing is one of this squad’s signs of identity, especially based on the solid performances of two midfielders: Álex Collado and Ramonchu.

Another key element of this team’s superb output is its versatility. The coach, Quique Álvarez, can apply a diversity of tactical approaches in order to surprise the opponents. For example, in the aforementioned match against Damm, Abel Ruiz, who is the division’s top scorer and a pure striker, played as a winger to allow Ricard Puig to play as false 9. The outcome was outstanding with both players scoring on the match.

Based on theses features, this team has dominated its category with 25 wins, one draw and two defeats, scoring a whopping 113 goals and conceding just 18. The team’s top scorer thus far are Abel Ruiz and Jordi Mboula, with 22 each, and Ramón Rodríguez with 16.

After the win over Damm, the blaugrana boys have a 12-point lead over second place Espanyol, with three rounds left to be played in the Honor Division. This is, without question, an unforgettable season for this great squad.
