Claudio Bravo (6): Unable to play out the back due to pressing by Sevilla, his long ball distribution hasn’t been great, but other than that not tested as Sevilla only managed 2 shots.

Sergi Roberto (6): Solid performance all around. Looked comfortable on the ball even though the passing could’ve been better in the 1st half. Focused defensively and did well to build from the back numerous times in the second half.

Gerard Piqué (6.5): Wasn’t troubled much by Sevilla, but did well whenever needed and relieved the pressure from Sevilla by passing sharply.

Javier Mascherano (7): Solid start, unlike what he showed in his short pre-season. Impressive tackles to prevent Sevilla from clear scoring chances. Passing improved but not on the level of his long diagonal passes. Hopefully he can maintain it for the whole season.

Jeremy Mathieu: Shaky on the ball, not able to do anything when pressed. Sadly, he had to go off early with a hamstring problem. Better to have the Frenchman as centre back in the future where he fares way better.

Sergio Busquets (6): Looked out of shape, especially in the 1st half with Sevilla pressing high. Improved on the latter half, getting into rhythm with Rakitić and Denis helping defensively. Wasn’t at his usual level, but there’s no doubt he'll get back on track as the season goes on.

Ivan Rakitić (5.5): Not his best as he struggled in possession, much better as the game went on, he put a lot of effort into defense, providing balance for his team as he usually does. Just like with Sergio, the best is yet to come.

Andrés Iniesta: Started off brightly, good passing but unable to influence the game much with Sevilla pressing well. Unfortunately got injured early and had to get subbed off in the 1st half. Hopefully it is nothing serious and we see him back really soon.

Lionel Messi (7.5): Had to drop deep often during first half as Barça struggled in the middle. This slightly changed as Sevilla players slowed down and he received the ball frequently. Assisted Munir in a brilliant fashion to put the game to bed. Had a couple of chances to score, but Sergio Rico denied him.

Luis Suárez (7): Found himself in a great chance early on, but couldn’t get past Rico. Worked tirelessly without the ball as usual and finally scored at the start of the second half after a brilliant passage of play by Denis and Arda. Seems to be in a great shape coming into the season.

Arda Turan (5): Hasn’t had the best of games, wasting passes and losing the ball easily, but did well to chest Denis pass down for Luis Suárez who finished it to make it 1-0. Arda hasn’t showed much promise as midfielder, and unfortunately it wasn’t a much better today on the wing. Combined with Digne and Denis a few times, but other than that not much to say.

Lucas Digne (7.5): Did surprisingly better than Mathieu after the Frenchman left injured. Comfortable on the ball, but not taking enough risks and got even better in the final stages of the match. Jordi Alba will continue to be the first choice but Digne's introduction was a welcome surprise for a player that most fans didn't have any expectations.

Denis Suárez (7.5): Initially didn't do much after subbing Iniesta and couldn’t impose himself until the second half, finding space and creating more chances including the first goal with a brilliant ball for Arda. The Spaniard and Digne were key in changing how Barça was performing and could become a very important player, filling in at both interior places.

Munir: Came on and killed the match. Scored with one of his first touches, tracked back and helped the team in the defense and brilliant on the ball. It was hard to find any flaws as he played for a short time.
