Marc-Andre ter Stegen (6): Played decent but wasn’t called into as much action as he had at San Mames. On the goal he was helpless, no GK in the world was saving that header. His pass accuracy was a bit below his usual standards but this was because Sevilla actually started to play in the second half. He did come to the rescue on one/two occasions. He goes into the INT break as the best GK in La Liga this season.

Nélson Semedo (6.5): Comfortable on the ball and under pressure, passed the ball well for the most part. Going forward he’s made some good runs but wasn’t able to create much with the ball at his feet. Defensively, he did well and saved an almost certain goal with a crucial block in the 2nd half after one of Sevilla’s counter attacks. Good to see him play 2 games in a row without getting subbed off, this will help him adapt faster.

Gerard Piqué (6.5): A much better performance compared to what we’ve seen so far this season. Brilliant first half, reacted well whenever he was called into action. On the goal he reacted too late on Pizarro’s run and could’ve done better. He was even dangerous going forward and managed to hit the bar with a great shot from outside the box. Passed the ball well.

Samuel Umtiti (6.5): Another solid game. Piqué playing well also made it easier for him. Defensively he was sound and the goal wasn’t much of his fault at all. Pizarro got run and Piqué reacted to the danger a little too late. His passing at 85% completion was a bit below his usual standard but this is still a very solid completion rate. Let’s just hope he doesn’t pick up an injury or something away with the French NT.

Jordi Alba (6.5): Wasn’t as involved as usual going forward and he didn’t create much, but he’s done well defensively. Kept Sevilla’s right side quiet for the most part and Jesus Navas was invisible throughout the game. Passing was great, even though it didn’t always lead to much. Completed 94% of his passes which is great percentage for him.

Sergio Busquets (7): Brilliant yet again. Completed 96% of his passes and had a couple of spectacular plays under pressure. Always on the right place at the right time, as usual. He’s had a more difficult job after Iniesta got subbed off and Barça lost control of the game but managed to do well. He’s been brilliant this season and this is a huge positive for Barça.

Ivan Rakitić (6.5): One of the better games of the season for him when it comes to influence with the ball at his feet. He’s been involved from the 1st minute and came close to scoring early on but his shot went just wide. Passing wasn’t always the best but he managed 4 key passes. Great assist to Paco, who made it 2-1. Here’s hoping we’ll see more of this in the future. It wasn’t spectacular, but better than what we’ve seen so far.

Andres Iniesta (8): Brilliant performance. Surprising since he was injured and was only given medical clearance 24 hrs before the game. He had a brilliant first half but you could see he wasn’t 100% in the second half. It wasn’t surprising that we got worse after he was subbed out. Even at his age, he’s still so influential to our MF and how we play in general. Let’s hope he doesn’t play too much on INT duty because he has played quite a lot this season.

Lionel Messi (6.5): Decision making wasn’t the best at times which is weird to say about him. He received the ball in good positions but Sevilla did well to stop him, and most of the time he got stopped on the edge of the box. He managed to create for his teammates but didn’t really have clear cut chances himself. It would’ve been great to see him score on his 600th appearance, but it wasn’t to be. He seems tired and could use some rest, but Barça’s difficult schedule isn’t making things easy.

Paco Alcácer (7): Key player in Barça’s win. Great movement on both of the goals he scored, especially the 2nd one where he timed his run perfectly and finished it with ease. Two goals he scored were also his only shots on target, he wasn’t much involved for the rest of the game but done his job well. It was weird to see him come off right after he scored, in my opinion he should’ve played the entire game.

Luis Suárez (4.5): His poor form continues. Safe to say he was the worst player on the pitch and it isn’t the first time this has happened this season. Easily dispossessed whenever he was on the ball and decision making was poor. He’s shown desire to change things but nothing is going his way and he’s clearly frustrated. With Paco playing like this, maybe it’s time for him to sit for a while and sort out whatever’s been bothering him lately.

Gerard Deulofeu: Replaced Paco in the 66th minute. He’s had opportunities on counter attacks, but his decision making let him down as usual. Didn’t manage to make much difference on the ball but he’s worked well defensively.

Paulinho (6): Replaced Iniesta with around 30 minutes left. As expected our game become erratic and chaotic. Plenty of loose touches and lots of chasing. We could have conceded due to the chaos nature of the game but you can’t put all the blame on him being subbed on. He gives it his all but I’m still not convinced subbing him on in big games is the right way to go, end to end games do not suit us at all and he doesn’t really bring much defensive stability.

Javier Mascherano: Replaced Rakitić in injury time and completed one pass before the ref blew the final whistle.
